I have taught at Neenah High School for 21 years. I have become intrigued by the possibility of flipping my classroom, as I just feel like my students are becoming more dis-engaged. Some are needing extra help, while others need more to do to fine tune their skills. I want to remove the number one complaint I receive from parents -"once my child is at home if they have questions, I have no idea how to help them - I don't speak Spanish." Kids are more actively involved after school and therefore have little time to come in to meet with me one-on-one. I want the opportunity to tackle more of that in my classroom while they are there. I need to have somewhere to start. I don't know what a typical day or week or semester looks like in a flipped language classroom. I do not want kids sitting doing nothing, or texting as sometimes they are doing now. I need a change. Something different. I feel that flipping IS that change, but I am soooo confused on what to do first!!!!
