Table 9-A228-A Flipped Math Department

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Last year I described to a large group of teachers how we were going to recreate a math department in a new high school based on flipped learning. After the first year we have experienced great triumphs and complete defeats! We will talk about how things went, how/why we designed our units of study, tools and tips for surviving, and our guiding principle school wide of providing outstanding customer service! There may be other department members present at session (TBD).

Brian Gervase

Math Dept Chair, Mountain House High School
I have been flipping courses slightly longer than the flipped learning network has been in existence :) | | I spent over 6 years developing pre-algebra, pre-calculus and AP Calculus flipped courses using the traditional model and also the mastery based model. Currently I am the math chair at a new high school and we are not only rethinking our pedagogy, but also updating our content to match current CCSSM standards.
