Flip Like a PIRATE

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Are Flipped Learning and “Teach Like a PIRATE” mutually exclusive, or can they coexist and strengthen each other? We’ll start with that question, and see where our conversation takes us. Let’s explore whether or not these two “most tweeted about” topics can share the educational stage. Come and discuss your thoughts on the following questions and more: Is teaching like a pirate too teacher-centered, or can we find balance? Can we use the hooks that Dave Burgess writes about to further engage students when they are in class? How might the flipped learning outside of class improve, or detract from the in-class hooks? What elements of teaching like a pirate could be used outside of class? Can these two mindsets of teaching work together to create an even more meaningful learning experience for students? Let’s have the conversation, and see what conclusions we can make together.
