A Brand New Blended School - Year 1 Review

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Mountain House High School opened in the fall of 2014 as a full on 1:1 Chromebook environment with blended learning as a key pillar. The math and social studies department chairs will share how the first full school year went. We will break down exactly how each department in the school fit into the overall experience we are trying to provide for our students. Flipped learning is a part of almost every teachers classroom in our school, but usually in a unique way across departments.

Brian Gervase

Math Dept Chair, Mountain House High School
I have been flipping courses slightly longer than the flipped learning network has been in existence :) | | I spent over 6 years developing pre-algebra, pre-calculus and AP Calculus flipped courses using the traditional model and also the mastery based model. Currently I am the math chair at a new high school and we are not only rethinking our pedagogy, but also updating our content to match current CCSSM standards.

Brian Schum

Social Studies Dept Chair
