The 'Grade' Divide

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

How many of us have had questions like this from our students?:
'Is this graded?'
'How will this affect my grade?'
'What did you get?'
'What can I do to bring my grade up?'
At the heart of flipped learning is the drive to create a meaningful learning experience for our students. However, the student drive for grades overrides the motivation for learning and can conflict with a flipped-teacher’s pedagogical approach. In this session, we will explore the paradigm between learning and grading, and open the conversation to what our classrooms would look like if grades were eliminated, as well as discuss strategies for bridging the divide between grades and learning.
